What is Flexible NRR?
Flexible NRR is a feature that allows you to advertise your non-refundable rates with more flexibility on the Hostelworld websites, making your property more attractive to the customers.
Guests booking flexible non-refundable rates will be allowed to make one date change to their booking before their original arrival date. Any proposed new date to be booked will be subject to availability and needs to be agreed with your property directly. This gives you complete autonomy over the process, while keeping the guarantee of the upfront payment.
How can you enable Flexible NRR?
You can opt in to have the current non-refundable rates transferred to Flexible NRR directly through your Hostelworld Inbox.
This feature can be found in the Property Setup section, and within the Facilities page of the Microsite Content tab.
To enable it, tick the FLEXIBLENRR box and then click on the button “Update Policies” located at the bottom of the page.
If enabled, the Flexible NRR will apply to all non-refundable reservations received through Hostelworld’s websites, apps, and other technology platforms, regardless of arrival date.
A Flex NRR tag will be added to the Booking page within Inbox.
How does Flexible NRR work?
Once enabled, the Flexible NRR will be flagged to the guest on your property’s page, on Hostelworld.
Customers are advised that their reservation should be changed directly with the property through additional messaging. Where the booking price for the new date is higher than the original date, you will need to amend the amount due directly with the customer. Where the booking price for the new date is less than the original date, no refund needs to be made to the guest.
The feature can also be used by customers together with the price filter, so it gives you better visibility on the city page. Properties that have flexible non-refundable rates enabled will be returned when the filter is used:
